The Central Florida Cactus & Succulent Society is having their 15th Annual Cactus and Succulent Show & Sale at the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens this Saturday, September 4th, between 9am and 4pm.
We have attended a few of the show/sales that are hosted by the USFBG and they always have a unique collection of plants to satisfy everyone’s curiosity. After attending a few of their events, we have found it difficult to go home empty handed. The Spring Festival resulted in our truck being filled with rare and unusual plants. Trish seems to have the knack for succulents and I’m sure we will be adding to her ever-growing collection this Saturday. As for myself, I tend to lean towards the cacti, so it shouldn’t be a problem for me to find something as well.
Plan on a attending this Saturday morning. You will not be disappointed.
The Botanical Gardens are located on USF’s campus at:
12210 USF Pine Drive
Tampa, FL
For more information on this event, call the gardens at (813) 910-3274.
Or visit their website at: http://www.cas.usf.edu/garden/

And, for information about the Central Florida Cactus & Succulent Society, talk with one of the members this Saturday.
A final thought……..To give you a little more knowledge before you attend the show, I found a link to some useful information about cacti and succulents from the garden’s website.
Did you know that all cactus are succulents, but all succulents are not cactus? Learn more here .
We hope you have a good time enjoying all that the USF Botanical Gardens have to offer as well as finding a little something for a living souvenir.
Happy Gardening,
Dave and Trish
is there Cactus Show in Florida ?
Yes, several shows combining cacti and succulents are given throughout the state, mostly in spring and fall. We just had one at USF this past Labor Day weekend. Check your local paper, garden clubs or county extension service. They might know about any upcoming shows/sales in your area.
Great post! I’d love a succulent show! NICE!
Thanks Kimberly! We’re looking forward to it.
